The Manin site constitutes both the historical heart of the Rothschild Foundation - as it is its oldest site, founded in 1905 - and its nerve center - since it houses the technical platform and logically brings together all activities related to surgery.
Thus, the extension and restructuring project of the Foundation is fundamental as it affects the most critical activities of the institution. It must allow it to adapt to the evolutions of medicine, to develop its care activities - particularly in ambulatory care - and to improve the overall coherence of the site - better distribution of sectors, clarification of pathways.
The Rothschild Foundation occupies a heritage site, logically classified as a “protected building”. The architecture of the Foundation, as well as its unique location in the heart of Paris facing the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, form its identity and constitute a heritage that the project seeks to enhance, notably through the restoration of its original facades and the landscaping of the front garden.
The patient journey is structured around a central atrium: a reference point that transforms the inner courtyard into a space for walking and waiting, within which the restored historical facades find a contemporary counterpoint in the wooden treatment of the new spaces.
Expansion and Restructuring Project of the Foundation.
