Silta Hospital is a trauma and oncology hospital that provides a valuable link between existing services - the emergency department and the campus oncology department - creating a large, unified hospital facility that enhances the operational efficiency of HUS: more accessible, safer, and improved for patients, visitors, and staff.
The building design project was preceded by extensive urban design work to determine the location and mass of the building complex.
The project is resolutely turned towards the future, both in its architecture and in the methods implemented during the design phase. For the first time, Brunet Saunier & Associés and its partners have used the “big room” method, bringing together designers and users to collaborate throughout the studies via a virtual reality immersion system (CAVE).
