Hôpital Nord Franche-Comté
Richard Copans
“Hôpital Nord Franche-Comté”, 2018, 9 minutes. Virtual reality film presented as part of the Phylum H exhibition organized by Brunet Saunier Architecture at the Galerie d’Architecture, Paris, 2018.
This film, produced in Virtual Reality (VR) by Richard Copans, is a unique sensory experience. Immersed in the heart of the Hôpital Nord Franche-Comté, the visitor is guided in the discovery of this large-scale project by a voice-over (François Marthouret) which provides, in addition to the visit, an educational presentation of the building’s design. 3-dimensional animations support his remarks and complete the understanding of space. We discover in turn, the public places of reception and meeting, services such as emergencies or the operating theater, a patient’s room, technical spaces, such as laundry, logistics galleries, and the heliport in roofing. A total immersion and an overview that summons up many senses to give the visitor a global understanding of this large-scale project, awarded the 2017 Equerre d’Argent in its category.
